bundle of joy

the journey of a very happy baby

I like eating DVD covers

Yay! I’m feeling better now so I don’t feel as irritated and frustrated anymore! (Mommy is doing the happy dance now because I don’t need her to carry me all the time.)

Eh? Taking my handsome picture? :P

Mommy has been re-watching all her Pixar movies lately. Yesterday was Toy Story and today was The Incredibles. I prefer the beginning where there are lots of ads for the other Disney movies on DVD.

Yes, I drooled all over the cover.

Oops. Mommy caught me on camera.

Mommy thought it was okay to let my gnaw on her DVD cover. Well, she regretted it later when she found out I had soaked the printed paper in the cover

See? Mr Incredible helping an old woman!

Most people eat popcorn; I prefer plastic. Nomnomnom...

8 Months

Okay, Mommy is doing a terrible job at keeping this blog. I must bug her everyday and go “eh! eh! eh!” :P

Today I am eight months old! But I am a very irritated baby :(

On Saturday, while Mommy had dinner with her friends, I was over at Grandma and Grandpa’s place and started running a fever. Aunty Nicole called Mommy and later, Ah Kong and Ah Ma came and brought me home. My fever kept going up and down all of Sunday and Monday so Mommy, Daddy and Ah Ma brought me to the doctor downstairs.

The doctor couldn’t diagnose me exactly since there are a few virus that cause fever. He said that my lungs were clear though and I had no rash. He prescribed me with a stronger fever medication and sent us home. The next morning, my fever broke but I woke up with red rashes all over my face, chest, neck and back :(

Today, Mommy Google-d and confirmed that I am having roseola (false measles). But Mommy says I’m still rather active and aside from being more cranky than usual and the slight loss of appetite, I seem almost fine :D

I like weighing myself :D

Eh? No updates?

Mommy has been so busy with her craft stuff and other internet stuff that she has failed to help me blog! :( Poor me!

Hopefully she will do some backlogs… if either
of us remembers what has happened!

First Month

I am one month old today! :D And the best thing is that neither Mommy nor Daddy took a single photo of me! No celebrations today though. Grandma and Grandpa will be having one this Sunday ;)

I can’t wait! :D

I’m trying to communicate

This morning Mommy and Daddy put me between them on the bed and I was trying to talk to them.

Daddy was counting the money we received from red packets and I was trying to tell him to let me see the money.

But I could only speak in gurgles and baby talk. But Daddy did let me see the notes.

Later, Daddy held me up and tried to make me stand on my own. It wasn’t easy so I struggled. Then he put me in a sitting position lying on his pillow. Mommy found it so cute and started taking my photos :)

Look! I'm sitting upright!

Yellow Baby

At the moment I’m still having jaundice. So Mommy and Daddy kept bringing me to the polyclinic to monitor my jaundice level. It’s not so easy, I tell you.

Firstly, in order to check my jaundice level, the nurses have to draw some blood from my heel. The first time they did that, I kept crying and struggling because it was SO PAINFUL. Poor Mommy could only hold me and look on helplessly.

Then we had to wait outside the lab. for the test results. Once it’s out, we have to see the doctor and the doctor says the same thing and to come back a few days later.

Anyway, I’m getting better. As in, the jaundice level is still rising but I’m not crying really hard when they draw my blood ;)

I arrived in this world a week earlier

That’s what Mommy and Daddy thought. They were praying that I would be born on the 20th. Instead, I followed Daddy’s footsteps and arrived early :)

I was born on September 13th, 2009 at 7.51 p.m. weighing a healthy 3.14kg.

Mommy was totally wiped out and stoned due to all the gas she inhaled. Daddy said I cried a lot but managed to calm down a little later.

After that, I was in the nursery and Daddy came and held me to the glass window so that all the grandparents and aunties and uncles could have a look at me.

Around midnight earlier, Mommy came to the nursery with Daddy so that I could have my second feed. My first feeding was formulae provided by the hospital but Mommy wants to totally breastfeed me.

Anyway, aside from dirtying my diaper after Mommy’s feed, I went into a slumber while the other babies wailed loudly. I think Mommy and Daddy are secretly proud that I’m so good :)

Surfing inside

Mommy said I have been moving every now and then for the past few hours. She thinks I’m surfing inside her but truthfully, I don’t remember what I was doing.

According to my position from last Thursday’s ultrasound, I would be sticking my butt out or wriggling my shoulders. Daddy booked in yesterday morning so Mommy texted him that I was missing him.

I guess I really was because Daddy always talked to me in a really loud and happy voice :)

My hand-me-downs

Mommy and Daddy went to take some baby things Grand-Gu Gu passed to Grandma. There were so many stuff like baby clothes toys and car seats. I’m going to be quite a spoilt baby. Also, Mommy says I was moving a lot a few days ago. I guess I was trying to find a comfy position :)

So this is it. The time is almost here. Mommy has stopped work and will be resting (and/or rotting) at home. Daddy will keep her company till the end of the month since he has his block leave but today he has got 24-hour duty :(
